Cherokee Purple

The Cherokee tomato, a dark purple heirloom variety from Tennessee, is said to have originated from Cherokee gardeners. Its flavor is comparable to that of the Brandywine tomato, and the brick-red flesh makes for an appealing display when sliced. The plants are prolific, producing large vines that yield tomatoes up to 5" in diameter and 3 1/2" deep.
